What to Expect from your Photography Session

What kind of photographer am I?

I love to create photographs - works of art for you and your family, heirlooms for your children and grandchildren for generations to come.

My passion is to not only capture what you look like at a certain point in time but also the essence of who you are, how you feel and the connection between you and your family.  I aim to give you a romantic, artistic view of your stage in life and will shoot meaningful, emotional and sensitive images.

Using my understanding of my equipment and natural light I will create images that will become works of art to keep in your homes and pass down for generations.

I never ask you to smile, look at the camera or do anything you are uncomfortable with. Rather than stiffly posing you, I will gently direct you in a natural way to allow your most beautiful self and the connection with your loved ones to shine through.

Interacting with your family is essential, and the closer you are physically, the more touching, cuddling, kissing between all of you the better!

I am after emotional images that will immortalise your feelings at the time.

Where will my session be held?

Together we will decide on the best location for your photos.

I am based in North West London and photograph families in the magnificent parks and forests that adorn this gorgeous city. Some of my favourite places to shoot are Hampstead Heath, Primrose Hill, Regents Park and Golders Hill Park.

I also photograph clients in their own homes as well as around London’s beautiful, cool urban landscape.

How long will my session be?

Typically sessions for roughly two hours.

When will my session be?

The most beautiful times of day are the Golden HoursThese are in the morning at sunrise and one to two hours before sunset when the light takes on the most magical golden glow, illuminating everything with stunning, warm light.  It is essential that if we are shooting at golden hour, that you come on time please so we don’t miss the light.

I do not do outdoor photo shoots in the middle of the day as the sunlight is too harsh overhead creating unattractive shadows.

If we are shooting indoors in your home then mid-morning or late afternoon is best as the light is soft.

What will my session be like?

Your session will be relaxed and enjoyable.  It is a wonderful opportunity to spend quality, meaningful time with your loved ones, and to really be present with them.  Just be yourself, chill, have fun and enjoy yourselves.  I will direct and make sure everything looks amazing behind the lens so you don’t have to worry.

If you have children participating in the shoot, you do not need to ask them to smile at me or do anything different than normal.  I will direct.  If they get stressed don’t worry and don’t scold them. Even angry little face can look very cute in photos and generally once they’ve got it out of their systems they eventually warm up. As a mum of three I am used to this.

The aim is to make the time we spend together enjoyable and fun, especially for the kids so no need to worry if they are behaving differently than normal.  They will relax once we get going and will love the special attention you give them.

Who will be at my session?

The session is for you, your partner and children as well as pets if you like.  I will take photographs of all of you in different combinations so that you have a complete set of family images.

Extended families are also welcome at an additional cost.

How should I prepare for my shoot?

Before I come, children should have a snack, go to the bathroom, and maybe rest too (if they need one) so that they are at their best when we start our session.

What should I wear?

Whatever you feel comfortable in and makes you feel beautiful.

I so am so excited to capture beautiful, meaningful photos of you and your loved ones and to make you Art that your children and grandchildren will treasure forever!
